Gondola-armchair in Direttorio style – Italy, 18th/19th Century Description: Refined solid walnut armchair, made in Italy at the end of the 18th/beginning of the 19th century. It features an elegant wraparound “gondola” backrest with a fine central fan/shell carving in neoclassical taste. The sinuous armrests terminate on turned uprights, while the frame rests on slender front sabre legs. The semicircular seat is upholstered with a light-background floral damask fabric, finished with metal studs. A solid piece with great charm, ideal for living rooms, writing desks, or modern interiors. Dimensions: • Height: 84 cm • Width: 55 cm • Depth: 54 cm Conditions: Good overall antique condition as seen in the photos. Stable structure with a beautiful natural patina and light signs of wear. Upholstery and fabric well preserved.
