All auctions / Arts & Graphics / Arranz, Juan - 3 Original plates + editorial colorings - Época - 1962

Interesting set of original production material created by Juan Arranz in 1962 for the Época series, intended for the French market. The lot comprises 3 original elements related to the process of creating and printing the story, including original black-and-white boards/pages and original mise en couleur, used as chromatic references for the subsequent photogravure and printing. The color guides preserve pencil/colored crayon interventions overlaid on the composition of the panels and constitute a particularly interesting testimony of the editorial procedure of the era, when the preparation of CMYK was still carried out manually. The pages feature editorial annotations and work references, including the indication “RECORD” and visible page numbers. Juan Arranz Aguado (Madrid, 1932) began collaborating with Selecciones Ilustradas around 1955 and from 1959 worked in France, producing numerous stories intended for the international market. Dimensions: about 44 × 32.5 cm per sheet. Conditions: original editorial material from 1962, with normal traces of the production process and aging. There are folds, warping, wear and small edge tears, marks and residues of previous mounting/tape and other editorial-use traces. The images are an integral part of the description and show in detail the state of conservation. Original production material, not a modern reproduction.
