Pair of pendant lamps "Crisol A660" for Arteluce – Perry King & Santiago Miranda, 1981 Object details: • Type: Pendant lamps (Set of 2 units) • Model: Crisol A660 • Designer: Perry King & Santiago Miranda • Manufacturer: Arteluce • Period: 1980s (introduced in 1981) • Country of production: Italy • Materials: Satin technopolymer / satin finish, reflective aluminum, steel (wires). • Conditions: Vintage good condition. Original components complete and branded on the lower cover. Show normal and minor signs of age consistent with their age and use, which do not compromise aesthetics. • Operation: Tested and working. Extended description: Rare and splendid two-lamp pendant set, model "Crisol A660", designed by the celebrated international duo of designer Perry King (British) and Spaniard Santiago Miranda for the prestigious Italian manufacturer Arteluce (historic hallmark of excellence founded by Gino Sarfatti). The Crisol model perfectly embodies the early-80s aesthetic and technological research philosophy: a minimalist, lightweight design that appears to float in space. The ingenious feature of this project lies in the two extremely slender steel cables, which not only provide adjustable mechanical height support but also function as true low-voltage electrical conductors (12V). This engineering innovation eliminates the unsightly exposed traditional electrical cord. The light source body is made of satin translucent technopolymer in a chalice shape, diffusing a soft, pleasant ambient light to the sides. Inside, a parabolic aluminum reflector optimizes and directs the beam downward. The lower black plastic cap of each unit bears all molded-in marks certifying authenticity: "Arteluce - CRISOL A660 - Made in Italy - 12V 55W HL". The lot includes all original dismantled components necessary for installation: the two diffusers, the ceiling rosettes/counterweights coordinated to the ceiling, and the black mounting plates with their screws. An iconic piece of Italian industrial design history. Buyer note: Photos showing the lamps installed, hanging, and lit are archive/catalog images used purely for illustrative purposes to display the final visual effect. The actual items for sale, dismantled and ready for shipping, are those presented in detail on the workbench. Measurements and technical specifications: • Diffuser width (including blades): about 26 cm • Diffuser height: about 10 cm • Ceiling rose diameter: about 12 cm • Cable length: Adjustable to suit ceiling height • Electrical specifications: 12V operation – halogen bi-pin bulb base (compatible with modern 12V LED replacements of the same form to reduce consumption and heat).
