Arthur van Schendel - De grauwe vogels (Luxe editie, nr. 9/25) - 1937

Luxurious bibliophile edition from 1937, first edition, numbered, J.M. Meulenhoff in Amsterdam. This copy is No. 9 of an edition of 25 copies. Printed on high-quality Old Dutch (untrimmed) paper from Gelder. The book binding is hand-bound black leather with gold stamping, ribbed spine and equipped with head gilding. The book is housed in a cassette that the purchaser may have had made for the book (cardboard with black linen). Book and cassette are in excellent condition. The cassette appears new. The book has on the front cover three very small dents (not noticeable) and one gold letter on the spine is slightly faded (L). Otherwise it looks splendid.
