This Spanish asparagus tongs is an early 20th-century silver example, made around 1930. The object bears the retailer's mark ‘R. Torres’ and displays a simple, functional form, typical of the Art Deco style. - Marks: Spanish five-pointed star in a circle, master mark (M, motto, E), retailer's mark ‘R. Torres’. - Dimensions: Length 12.2 cm, width 3.2 cm. - Weight: 51 grams. - Condition: Excellent, still in use. - Art-historical context: Tongs like these were used for serving asparagus in bourgeois households.
