Assorted British and French Bayonets. A good selection with some scarce examples, including an excellent example 1856 Pioneer Bayonet marked upon the quillon ‘5.92, 3, MX’, the blade marked with a War Department crow’s foot and many other markings, the scabbard nicely marked ‘5/1879-V BRK-1-7’, very good condition; the second example a British 1856-58 pattern Enfield Yataghan Sword Bayonet and original frog, the hilt with Middlesex Regiment markings, the blade with numerous markings including a Victorian crown, War Department, etc., very good service worn condition; the third example a British Enfield 1888 Pattern Lee Metford Bayonet, manufactured for the British .303 calibre Enfield, Lee Metford Rifle, the 30 cm double edged unfullered blade with a medial ridge running from the ricasso to the blade tip, the ricasso marked with a broad arrow surmounting ‘W.D.’ and various other inspection stamps on both sides, the wooden grip stamped ‘97’, the hilt stamped ‘2. Dvn, 2nd Devon’, with a dent to the chape of scabbard on one side, otherwise good condition; with French Gras bayonets (2) lacking their scabbards, both in good service worn condition (5) £300-£400.
