Attributed to Stanislas Lépine (French, 1835–1892) - The Pavillon de Marsan and rue des Tuileries, Paris, probably circa 1880–1890, signed 'S. Lépine' lower right, oil on cradled wooden panel: 15.3 x 23.7 cm, frame: 25.2 × 33.6 cm. The rebuilt Pavillon de Marsan supports a date in the later 1870s or subsequently, with circa 1880– 1890 remaining the preferred working date. Particularly relevant museum comparisons include Lépine’s Nuns and Schoolgirls in the Tuileries Gardens, Paris, National Gallery, London, NG6346, oil on wood, 15.7 × 23.7 cm; La place de la Concorde, vue de la terrasse des Tuileries, Musée Carnavalet, P1936, 15.8 × 23.7 cm; and View of the Louvre, National Gallery of Art, Washington, 1994.59.9, 14.6 × 23.7 cm.
