Auguste Wahlen (Jean-François Nicolas Loumyer)

The book has 341 pages. Unfortunately the first pages are detached but intact and are correctly inserted in the book (see photo). The book is 26.5 cm long and 18 cm wide. The volume is an absolute reference point for enthusiasts of phaleristics (the study of medals and orders), heraldry, and military history. The work is famous for its exceptional off-text illustrative apparatus, which includes splendid plates engraved and finely hand-colored at the time, protected by original tissue guards. The plates show in detail the large collars, plaques, crosses, and the medals of the world's most important chivalric orders (including the plate of the famous Order of Leopold of Belgium, visible in the photo). Contains 89 plates off-text.
