Elegant and original brooch depicting a dragon with wings widely spread, made in gold-toned metal and richly adorned with an enamelled blue and white decoration. The overall piece features remarkable decorative work: the body, wings, head and long sinuous tail are covered with fine floral motifs and scrolls inspired by archaizing patterns, in a cobalt blue palette on a white background recalling the aesthetics of traditional Asian porcelains. The large spread wings are particularly decorative. They are structured by gilded relief nerves and borders, which outline their shape and contrast with the finesse of the blue-and-white decor. Each wing is enhanced by a faceted blue turquoise stone in a navette (cushion) shape. The dragon's body is also studded with several small faceted blue turquoise navette-shaped stones with iridescent reflections. Its long serpentine tail, decorated with regular blue lines, ends with a cluster of three round blue turquoise stones, adding an extra touch of brightness. The head, finely molded, has dark eyes and retains the same enamelled decoration as the rest of the piece.
