Exceptional lot linked to the Spanish Royal House and to the claimant to the throne Don Juan de Borbón y Battenberg, Count of Barcelona. The set consists of: - Typewritten political document from the period (5 full pages): Contemporary copy of the “Institutional Bases of the Monarchy” (Estoril Bases), dated in Estoril February 28, 1946. In the header it reads literally: “Note that Don Juan handed to the Spanish Ambassador in Portugal on the day of the last February 28 for transmission through official channels to the Generalísimo.” It constitutes Don Juan de Borbón’s political proposal to restore the monarchy in Spain after World War II through twelve institutional bases. In it he puts forward a model of a representative, Catholic monarchy moderated by laws and ethical limits, which articulates an executive power with responsible ministers, an independent judiciary endowed with constitutional guarantees, a Council of the Realm to advise, and Cortes formed partly by direct popular suffrage and partly by corporate and territorial representation. - Greeting card with original autographs and photograph: Handwritten New Year card (1982-1983) signed in the hand by the Counts of Barcelona: “María” (María de las Mercedes de Borbón-Dos Sicilias) and “Juan” (Don Juan de Borbón). - Gala photograph. Official portrait of Don Juan in gala uniform as Captain General of the Navy and the Order of the Golden Fleece. - An essential piece for collectors of contemporary Spanish history, the Transition, militaria and autographs of the Spanish monarchy. Original documents and in excellent condition. Beautiful pieces of collection and Spanish history. Original from the period. Excellent piece with no reserve price. Great opportunity.
