Babe Ruth and others autographed "World Series 1930" baseball - Christy Walsh presentational blotter. Red and black stitched baseball has "World Series 1930" written on a side panel in unknown hand. It is signed by Babe Ruth (sweetspot, 7/8 out of 10), Connie Mack (7), Nick Altrock (7/8), and Gabby Street (6). Additional signature of John McGraw is clubhouse. It was long part of a presentational blotter (included) which has "Compliments of Christy Walsh" lettered on the base. Walsh was a pioneering sports agent and had a long standing tradition of creating such pieces. They would be given to and sit on the desks of those he was doing business with as a reminder. All of who have signed the offered example were clients of Walsh and there is a well known image of the group which was taken at the 1930 World Series. Ball shows use/wear with scuffing and surface wear and a clear coat applied long ago to aid in preservation has toned. A hole was drilled in one side (to facilitate being affixed to the blotter) and there is some resulting damage around this area. Mild wear to blotter itself. Includes full LOA from JSA: Ruth sig.
