BADINGUET’S AFFILIATION, No. 4 — PRINCE NAPOLEON DE LA TRAMBLAIS. Badinguet’s Affiliation. No. 4. Prince Napoleon (known as Plon-Plon). A down-to-earth man who couldn’t care less about glory. Paris, on sale at Grognet, printer and publisher, 16 Rue des Écoles, [circa 1870–1871]. Colored satirical lithograph depicting Jérôme Napoléon, known as Prince Napoléon or “Plon-Plon,” caricatured with donkey ears, in uniform, and taking cover behind a tree while soldiers fight in the background. Signed on the plate “De la Tramblais.” A fine anti-Bonapartist caricature from Badinguet’s *Affiliation* series, published after the fall of the Second Empire.
