BALZAC (Honoré de). *The Thirty-Year-Old Woman*. Paris: L. Carteret & Co., 1902. In-8, gilt fillet binding with mosaic elements and rosettes at the corners, the same rosette repeated five times on the spine, binding adorned with a gilt garland, green moiré endpapers and lining, gilt edges on endpapers, cover and spine (Mercier Sr. de Cuzin). Illustrated cover and 35 compositions by A. Robaudi, engraved with a burin and etched by Henri Manesse. Printed in an edition of 300 copies, this one on Japanese paper (a run of 50 copies) printed for Léopold Carteret with two sets of plates, including pure etchings, enhanced with a delicate original full-page watercolor dedicated by Robaudi to the publisher L. Carteret, Warm regards from the illustrator, and a letter from Robaudi decorated with an original drawing. Ex-libris L. Carteret.
