French Barostar aneroid barometer, mounted in a brass porthole-style case on a mahogany/red-stained wooden plaque. The label is useful: Barostar was a French manufacturer from Morteau; the Barostar trademark dates from 1978, and the company later became part of a larger French instrument group. The ISO 9002 / EN 29002 label strongly suggests your example is late 20th century rather than 1950s, probably around the 1990s.
