Large naval aneroid barometer in the shape of a helm wheel – Wood and brass – France – 1960s/70s Elegant wall barometer in a nautical style, crafted in turned wood with a brass dial under glass. Its helm-wheel shape makes it a beautiful maritime decorative piece while preserving its function as a meteorological instrument. The dial bears the traditional French indications: “Tempête”, “Pluie”, “Variable”, “Beau” and “Très sec”. It is also marked “Baromètre précision” and “Modèle déposé”. The instrument is complete with its original glass, its visible aneroid mechanism, and its suspension system. The barometer is functional and responds to variations in atmospheric pressure. Beautiful decorative presence with a diameter of about 41 cm. It will easily find a place in a seaside-style interior, a holiday home, a ship’s cabin, or a collection of nautical objects. Condition: Good overall condition with normal signs of use and a slight patina related to age (see photos; they are part of the description). A fine vintage object that combines nautical decoration with a traditional measuring instrument.
