BARRÈS (Maurice). *A Garden on the Orontes*. Paris: Librairie Plon, n.d. [1922]. In-8, aubergine morocco leather, double gilt fillet framing with fleurons at the corners, decorated spine, inner frame of morocco leather in the same color decorated in the same manner, gilt headband, untrimmed, cover and spine (Vauthrin-Pezet binding, Paris). First edition, unnumbered copy on pure thread. Signed by the author on the half-title page: “To Mr. Bourdel, with the author’s thanks.” This is likely Joseph Bourdel, who was the director of the Plon bookstore at the time. Newspaper clippings about the book pasted at the end of the volume.
