All auctions / Miscellaneous / Basket - Art Deco Style - Enamelled Ceramic, Bronze/Brass
Very elegant and large decorative basket forming a centerpiece, crafted in the purest taste of the Art Nouveau style (Jugendstil period). It is a superb reproduction manufactured in the second half of the 20th century, reproducing the famous model marked “JBT Anno 1906” under the base. The ceramic bowl features a scalloped edge and a charming floral decoration of roses. The motif offers a very beautiful visual rendering thanks to a relief enamel decoration technique (outlined effect), enhanced by a background design reminiscent of crackled faience. The bowl is elegantly integrated into a tall patinated metal mount (bronze/antique brass look) with a geometrically openwork base, typical of the 1900 movement. The ceramic-to-metal assembly is original and achieved by bonding. A highly decorative object, perfect for elevating a classic interior, a dining table, or a entryway piece as a large catch-all. In superb overall condition. The ceramic is intact (no cracks, no chips). The metal patina is uniform and well preserved. Happy bidding to all As with all my items auctioned on this site, this marvel has undergone no cleaning (just dusting), nor modification since purchase Good bidding to all Please look carefully at the photos that form part of the description.
