Bayel - Wine glass (6) - Bacchante Nude Female Stems...

Bayel – Set of 6 Crystal Red Wine Goblets – Bacchante Nude Female Stems – Hand-Engraved Floral Decoration – France No Reserve Price An exquisite and highly decorative set of six vintage crystal wine goblets attributed to the renowned French manufacturer Cristallerie Royale de Champagne, Bayel. These elegant glasses feature the distinctive Bacchante design, with sculptural frosted crystal stems representing nude female figures. Each goblet combines a generously rounded, transparent crystal bowl with a beautifully modelled female figure, her arms raised above her head to support the bowl. The frosted crystal creates a delicate satin-like finish, highlighting the graceful contours of the body while contrasting beautifully with the brilliance of the transparent crystal. The bowls are decorated with delicate hand-engraved floral motifs, featuring stylised flowers, fine leaves and gracefully intertwined stems. The subtle engraving adds an elegant decorative touch to the sculptural design. Perfectly suited for serving red wine, these glasses are also miniature works of decorative art. Their unusual combination of classical sculpture and refined crystal craftsmanship makes them equally appealing for an elegant dining table or as decorative objects in a contemporary interior. The set consists of six matching crystal goblets. Historical Background Cristallerie Royale de Champagne, established in 1678 in Bayel, France, is one of the country’s historic crystal manufacturers, renowned for its fine tableware and decorative glass. The Bacchante design draws inspiration from classical mythology. Bacchantes were the female followers of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, celebration and pleasure. Their representation as sculptural stems creates a charming connection between mythology and the tradition of wine drinking. Combining frosted figurative sculpture with transparent crystal and delicate engraving, these goblets beautifully illustrate the artistic heritage and craftsmanship associated with French crystal production. Will be carefully packaged and well protected
