Beatles - Sgt

A highly desirable original 1967 UK first stereo pressing of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on Parlophone (PCS 7027), featuring the sought-after -1/-1 stereo matrices and complete with the iconic Peter Blake cut-out sheet. Released in June 1967, Sgt. Pepper was one of the most ambitious albums of its era, both musically and visually. The original UK issue was presented in an elaborate fully laminated gatefold sleeve and included the famous cardboard cut-outs designed by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth. This copy carries the original black-and-yellow Parlophone labels with the important first-issue characteristics: "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD." perimeter text and "SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS". These details, together with the -1/-1 stereo matrices, identify it as an original UK first pressing. Side 1 is pressed from the first mother (1 RP), an especially attractive manufacturing detail for the specialist collector. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve remains very attractive. The lamination retains excellent sheen and the artwork remains vibrant and clean. There is some visible wear to the spine together with light age-related handling, but the sleeve remains structurally sound and presents extremely well overall → VG+ Vinyl (VG+): The vinyl retains a beautiful original gloss and shows only minimal signs of previous use, with a small number of very fine superficial hairlines. There is no significant or heavy playwear. The black-and-yellow Parlophone labels remain notably clean. Overall a strong VG+, presenting close to EX in places → VG+ Insert / Cut-out Sheet: Original Peter Blake cut-out sheet included. The original dark green cardboard cut-out sheet remains present, an essential part of the album's original 1967 presentation and an important addition for collectors. The cut-out sheet was designed specifically for the original issue and is frequently missing from surviving copies today. ⸻ Details * UK 1st stereo pressing * Parlophone PCS 7027 * Black-and-yellow Parlophone labels * "THE GRAMOPHONE CO.
