Uncirculated condition: All cards are completely blank and unwritten, without stamps or postmarks. The inside of the cards is in excellent condition. The lot contains the following 10 envelopes: Protected Mammals (Mammifères protégés): Series 1 (cards 1-9) Protected Mammals (Mammifères protégés): Series 2 (cards 10-18) Protected Mammals (Mammifères protégés): Series 3 (cards 19-27) Protected Mammals (Mammifères protégés): Series 4 (cards 28-36) Mammals of Belgian Congo (Mammifères du Congo Belge): Series 1 (cards 1-9) Fish of Belgian Congo (Poissons): Series 1 (cards 1-9) Amphibians and Reptiles (Batraciens et Reptiles): Series 1 (cards 1-9) Protected Birds (Oiseaux protégés): Series 1 (cards 1-9) Birds of Belgian Congo (Oiseaux du Congo Belge): Series 1 (cards 1-9) RARE: Vectors of Infections in Belgian Congo (Vecteurs d'Infections): Series C (cards 1-9). This medical-historical folder is highly sought after among specialists! Condition of the items: The postcards themselves are in very neat, uncirculated condition. The paper envelopes show the usual light signs of aging (patina) and bear a small handwritten number from a previous collector on the front, which adds to the authentic character. See the photos for a good personal impression. Ideal for collectors of colonial history, Congo memorabilia, vintage natural history prints, or antique postcards.
