Belle Doxx – “The Naked Truth” – Original mixed media on canvas An original and unique work by the Dutch contemporary artist Belle Doxx, in which text, symbolism, and raw figuration come together in a direct and personal composition. In The Naked Truth, the confrontation with truth and acceptance is central. The text “The Naked Truth” forms the starting point of the work, while handwritten phrases such as “The truth is that there is none” and “We are not even a dot that matters” add an almost existential layer. The message does not seem nihilistic, but rather liberating: not everything has to be controlled, explained, or held onto. The words “All we just need to live, not to give, but to take everything as real as it is” reinforce that idea. The work thus centers on letting go of expectations and accepting life as it presents itself, including the chaos. Visually, this theme is supported by a combination of recurring motifs from Belle Doxx’s oeuvre: eyes, wings, lightning bolts, text fragments, and animal symbolism. The two tiger heads at the bottom give the piece extra strength. One of the figures is accompanied by the words “The Beast,” which can refer to instinct, survival drive, and the more untamed side of human nature. The light background is broken by pink, green, blue, and black accents. This creates a composition that looks simultaneously airy and restless. The visible lines, sketches, and blocks of color give the work its distinctive intuitive energy. As is often the case in Belle Doxx’s work, there is a tension between vulnerability and strength, reason and instinct, control and chaos. About Belle Doxx Belle Doxx is a Dutch contemporary artist with a recognizable visual language in which painting, text, symbolism, and influences from pop culture and street art come together. Her work has been presented, among other things, during a solo exhibition in Shelter Amsterdam, a solo show at Gallery BLNDSH in The Hague, and at the NOCKNOCK Art Fair. She has also participated in a group exhibition at Black Art Gallery in Antwerp, where works by Harif Guzman and Stig De Block were shown, among others. Belle Doxx has also collaborated with the international artist Machine Gun Kelly, for whom she developed artwork for merchandise. In 2025, her work was presented by Playboy.
