Bequet - Statue, Statue de chien - 37 cm - Ceramic

Ceramic sculpture Béquet – German Shepherd – An elegant and decorative piece. Very beautiful ceramic sculpture from Maison Béquet, depicting a German Shepherd standing in a particularly elegant and expressive pose. A piece that will appeal to both enthusiasts of antique ceramics and beautiful animal sculptures as well as collectors of Maison Béquet. The sculpture represents a German Shepherd with a proud and dynamic look, standing with its head turned to the right and ears pricked. The modeling work is particularly meticulous: slender, muscular silhouette, natural posture, ears upright, muzzle finely shaped, highly expressive gaze, tail curved backward, legs and musculature worked with great precision. The dog rests on a naturalistic base, evoking a piece of terrain, rendered in delicate shades of soft green, beige and brown. It features a very glossy glaze, which gives great depth to the colors. The dog’s coat blends different shades of chocolate brown, mahogany brown, deep black and lighter highlights. Variations in hue and light effects on the glaze give the sculpture a particularly lifelike appearance. The contrast between the dark coat and the softer-toned base is very successful. This sculpture bears attribution to Maison Béquet, a renowned manufacturer of ceramic productions and decorative objects. The piece is particularly interesting for animal art enthusiasts, as representations of dogs are sought after for their decorative character and their modeling work.
