ew York Gundam Vs Sangoku BLACH (Maxime Blachère) Limited edition signed and hand-numbered In this exuberant work, BLACH transforms the mythical horizon of Manhattan into an immense playground dedicated to pop culture, graffiti, and contemporary urban art. At the heart of New York, the Empire State Building towers over a totally reinvented city where Gundam, Sangoku, Bart Simpson and a multitude of hidden references to the geek, manga, street art and comic book worlds intersect. Each building becomes a canvas for expression, each façade a giant sketchbook invaded by hundreds of signatures, characters, and messages. The artist also pays homage to several major figures in graffiti and urban art. Fans will enjoy spotting nods to Futura 2000, 2UP, Invader, as well as many more discreet references scattered throughout the composition. Some details appear immediately, while others only reveal themselves after several minutes of observation. Typical of BLACH's work, the piece blends reworked photography, drawing, marker graffiti, and manual interventions. Between humor, nostalgia, and a deliberately overloaded visual, it invites the viewer to explore the city like a treasure hunter of urban gems. Each glance reveals a new character, a new graffiti, a new hidden reference. This intentional accumulation of details creates a living, evolving work where one can spend hours observing without ever seeing everything. An energetic, colorful piece that celebrates New York, manga culture, international street art, and BLACH's Fluxus universe.
