Black Chalama Opal Ring / Cabochon / new- 3.5 g - (1)

Ring Black Chalama Opal / Cabochon / new In 925 sterling silver set Weight: 3.50 g New and unworn Ring size: U 58 UK Q 1/2 US 8.4 Fr 18 Inner diameter: 18.4 mm Black opals, just like their differently colored counterparts, occur as a rounded to nodular mass with no recognizable crystal structure. Their beauty usually reveals itself only after the surface is cut. Characteristic of this form of opals is their opalescence, which appears in intense rainbow flashes. Additionally, the host rock of this opal is dark, grey to black, which gave it this name. Black opals form, like other opals, from silica-containing fluids that crystallize in sediments or volcanic rocks. Their characteristic shimmer is attributable to water inclusions within the mineral. Shipping as insured registered mail.
