Bobby Doerr autographed "game used" inscribed c.1940s baseball glove

Bobby Doerr autographed "game used" inscribed c.1940s baseball glove. MacGregor brand glove has faint Doerr facsimile signature impressed in the palm along with vestiges of the manufacturer markings. A MacGregor branded tag remains in place on the wrist strap. Strong use and some general age related wear and there is what appears to be a vintage repair at the base of the thumb (on back) where an additional minor separation of the material has occurred. Signed twice by Doerr (once having faded) and inscribed "game used." Doerr spent the entirety of his (14) year Major League career at second base for the Boston Red Sox and ranks among the finest position players of his era. He remained with the club post-playing days as both a scout and coach and remains one of the most revered figures in Franchise history. Gloves can be among the more difficult pieces of equipment to attributed directly to a player and the offered is especially desirable given Doerr's personal first-hand attribution of game use.
