Boch Frères - Charles Catteau - Baluster vase - Ceramic - Model 1118

Art Deco vase designed by Charles Catteau for Boch Frères, La Louvière (Belgium). This is model 1118, a characteristic form known as the 'pineapple', recognizable by its oval body entirely structured with a geometric relief pattern and its remarkable stepped neck. The vase is made in a beautiful cream-white glazed ceramic. The glossy glaze shows a network of firing cracks, particularly visible in close-up photographs and characteristic of its aged appearance. The shape number 1118 is visible under the base. This model is documented and referenced in works devoted to Charles Catteau. Condition: Good overall condition. No chips or cracks visible in the photographs. Presence of glaze cracking network and slight signs of age. The base shows the normal signs of contact and use. The numerous detailed photographs are an integral part of the description.
