This spherical pitcher-shaped vase with a flared neck and a triple tubular handle is a remarkable creation by the famous Boch Frères factory in La Louvière . Crafted in glazed earthenware , this model features a sumptuous and highly dense polychrome cloisonné decoration depicting a profusion of stylized flowers , blooming chrysanthemums and peonies in vibrant yellow , red , orange and white shades over a deep burgundy background . The interior of the collar reveals a contrasting turquoise blue glaze . This sophisticated pattern bears the hand - painted decor number D.2938 under the base , alongside the official circular stamp of the manufacturer including the Belgian origin mark . This silhouette and precious enameling style belong to the designs produced under the artistic direction of Arts Director Raymond Chevalier , who developed these rich floral compositions highlighted with gold during the late 1930s and early 1940s .The item features a height of 23 cm , a maximum width of approximately 22 cm including the handles and a collar diameter without the spout of 13.5 cm , with an individual and total weight of 1300 g . This vase is in good overall condition , with its enamels and structural core perfectly preserved . Minor gilt losses and superficial rubbing of the gold patina are present as normal and expected signs of wear for its age , located mainly on the handles , the pouring lip and the decorative rings , as shown in detail within the photographs and bearing witness to its period authenticity .
