Boch Frères

Magnificent and impressive fine earthenware vase crafted by the famous Belgian manufacturer Boch Frères under its prestigious Keralux brand in the 1950s-60s. With a remarkable height of 44 cm and a substantial weight of 2.1 kg, this piece stands out for its superb presence, sturdiness, and exceptional craftsmanship. The earthenware is coated with a brilliant glaze that beautifully highlights the freshness and brightness of its polychrome enamelled earthenware motifs. Description of the form and decoration: The vase adopts a sculptural silhouette in the form of a double-bulb gourd (an upper bulb and a lower bulb), a classic oriental-inspired design highly sought after in Europe. Its body is adorned with superb vertical fluted reliefs that catch the light. The neck and hexagonal base are subtly outlined by a gold trim. The whole is fully dressed in the famous "Fleurs de Saxe" decoration, a grand polychrome classic inspired by the famous Meissen German porcelain. Characterized by a profusion of naturalistic bouquets of great finesse: generous pink, red, and yellow roses, accompanied by a multitude of small field flowers (poppies, forget-me-nots) in vibrant spring colors. The ensemble is richly adorned with polychrome floral bouquets in vivid colors: pink, red, and yellow roses, blue flowers, irises, small field flowers and green foliage. The bouquets are harmoniously distributed across the entire surface, accompanied by clusters of blue forget-me-nots, violet anemones, and fine foliage, standing out against an elegant ivory background. The printed décor "Fleurs de Saxe" is highly appreciated in European decorative arts; it is one of the emblematic floral décors of Boch Frères productions from the Keralux period. Integration into your interior: - With its majestic size, this vase makes a true centerpiece capable of enhancing several styles of decoration: - Classical or Haussmannian Interiors: Magnificent on a marble fireplace, a grand sideboard in noble wood, or an entrance console to add a touch of prestige. - Shabby Chic or Cottage Chic Style: Ideal at the center of a large farm table or in a veranda to accentuate a bucolic, romantic, and poetic atmosphere. - Modern or Maximalist Interiors: A striking contrast when placed among a rich, traditional decor amid very minimalist, contemporary furniture.
