Bogata, Texas. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 631. Bogata NB. Charter #10639. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 25. Named after its better-known counterpart in Colombia, Bogata is a tough city for National Bank Notes even though two banks operated here between 1914 and 1935. The First National Bank (Charter# 10483) is by far the most "common" as it records a total of 16 non-institutional notes in the National Bank Note Census. By contrast, the Bogata National Bank (Charter# 10639) is excessively rare and records just three surviving notes with the most recent auction appearances dating to 2025 and before that in 2001 when this same exact note realized approximately $1,955 by the time bidding had ended. To that end, bidders are faced here with one of the many rare opportunities from the Copeland holdings where even a comment for "Minor Rust" should be immaterial to bidders. PCGS Banknote comments "Minor Rust." Estimate: $800 - $1,200. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
