Bowl - Ceramic - Chinese Porcelain Bowl

Chinese Porcelain Bowl with Four Polychrome Panels and Gilt Metal Mounts, c. 1990s Period: Late 20th Century Approx. Date: c. 1990s Material: Porcelain, gilt metal Style: Chinese traditional / decorative Condition: Excellent A decorative Chinese porcelain bowl, dating from circa the 1990s, featuring four individually decorated pictorial panels around the exterior. The panels depict traditional Chinese subjects, including landscapes, flowering plants, birds and figures, executed in a colourful polychrome palette. The interior is glazed in a distinctive turquoise-green colour. The porcelain body is surrounded by an ornate gilt-metal mount, richly decorated with raised traditional Chinese motifs, creating an elaborate contrast between the painted porcelain panels and the antique-style metalwork. The underside bears a four-character seal-style mark reading “乾隆年制” (Qianlong Nian Zhi / “Made during the Qianlong period”). The mark is presented as part of the decoration and is not taken as proof that the bowl dates from the Qianlong period. Condition: Excellent overall condition, with only minor signs of age and use. The painted decoration and turquoise interior remain well preserved. No obvious major chips, cracks or repairs are visible in the photographs. A striking decorative piece combining traditional Chinese porcelain painting with an elaborate gilt-metal mount.
