Box - Gilt brass - Epoque Empire

Magnificent antique box from the Empire period, dating from the early 19th century around 1800-1820, featuring a superb burr wood veneer with particularly spectacular grain. This very elegant rectangular box is distinguished by the richness of its burr veneer, offering beautiful dark brown, ambered and golden hues as well as remarkable natural swirling patterns. The lid is adorned with a central brass escutcheon as well as four brass reinforcing pieces. The interior has a bright red fabric lining. In good condition, just a few minor wear marks related to its age.
