All auctions / Miscellaneous / Box - Wood - Foldable cassette-style game box.
Splendid and refined folding chest-style game box, a masterpiece of Middle Eastern craftsmanship from the historic Damascus tradition (Syria). This exceptional art object masterfully combines functionality and aesthetics thanks to meticulous work in geometric micro-mosaic (marquetry). The exterior surface of the box is entirely covered by a dense and geometric inlay of noble multicolored woods (including walnut, olive wood, and rosewood) enriched with precious and luminous inlays of authentic mother-of-pearl, which create evocative iridescent reflections depending on the light. Signs of time, minor flaws, and wear clearly visible in the photo, Photos as an integral part of the lot description. Shipping insured and traceable. DIMENSIONS closed: 20x40x8 open: 40x40x4
