Brandimarte - Frame (2) - .925 silver

Pair of table photo frames in full Liberty style with splendid raised reliefengraved workmanship. The décor combines natural elements and figures typical of the period: along the sides vines with grape clusters and leaves descend, while in the two upper corners are carved two refined profiles of a female face that blend with the vegetal motifs. The items belonged to my grandmother, who liked to surround herself only with beautiful and valuable things. Both frames bear on the left the signature of Brandimarte, a prestigious Florentine brand renowned worldwide for the excellence of its silverware. As vintage items, they show minimal signs of time due to the many years elapsed, which bear witness to their authenticity. At the moment they already look very beautiful, but once polished with specific silver products they will become truly stunning. The back of both is lined with blue velvet that holds up well and the rear support is completely intact. On one of the two frames the 925 silver hallmark is clearly impressed on the rim together with the silversmith’s mark, so on this piece the material certainty is absolute. The other frame is identical in dimensions and signature, but presents a gold finish. At a glance it does not show evident hallmarks; I do not exclude that the mark could be hidden beneath the velvet closure or in some internal non-visible area. Not having ever had it examined or taken apart to verify whether it is gold-plated silver or another metal, I prefer not to give certainties and I gladly leave the benefit of the doubt to those who know. The offer focuses on the 925 silver hallmarked frame, while the gold one is included with the first as part of the lot, with no guarantee on the material. I invite you to look closely at all the photos, which are an integral part of the description. The weight I indicated in the description, 722 g, refers to the hallmarked 925 silver frame; the other gold one weighs 705 g.
