BRAQUE (Georges). Presentation of the Braque Donation. - Lot 46

BRAQUE (Georges). Presentation of the Braque Donation. Paris, Musée du Louvre, Réunion des Musées Nationaux, 1965. Quarto, paperback, white cover printed with a facsimile of Georges Braque’s signature. Black-and-white illustrations. Catalog of the exhibition presenting the Braque Donation at the Louvre Museum, Etruscan Gallery, beginning May 26, 1965. Preface by Jean Cassou. BnF Catalog A particularly interesting publication due to its chronological proximity to Braque’s death in 1963 and the institutional provenance of the works. The catalog notably features *Nature morte brune* (1932), *Vanitas* (1939), *The Red Side Table*, *The Bread* (1941), *Dressing Before the Window* (1942), *The Chair* (1948), and *The Bird and Its Nest* (1956). Several works are still documented today with a reference to this 1965 exhibition in the collections of the Centre Pompidou. Centre Pompidou Cover slightly soiled and creased, with a few folds and signs of wear; interior well preserved.
