Brazil (Colonial)

Beautiful Brazilian 960 Réis coin, minted in 1820 during the reign of João VI, certified by NGC with UNC (Uncirculated) grade. A highly attractive piece, salvaged from the sea, retaining a beautiful appearance and the unique character that its maritime history gives it. The crown and the inscription stand out on the obverse, while on the reverse there is the Brazilian coat of arms over the armillary sphere, one of the most emblematic motifs of Brazilian numismatics. A coin with its own history, maritime provenance and NGC certification, ideal for collectors of Portuguese coins, shipwrecks and sea-recovered pieces. Important: the coin was certified by NGC as UNC, but the NGC capsule later suffered an accidental break. The piece and its certification label are preserved, but the capsule currently presents this break, a circumstance that is clearly shown in the photographs.
