Ban Chiang period, 1st millennium BCE Height 21.8 cm - diameter 15.7 cm Very good condition The Ban Chiang archaeological site is a large prehistoric earthen mound located in the Ban Chiang sub-district, Nong Han district, Udon Thani province, northeastern Thailand. It is an oval-shaped mound formed by human dwellings, measuring 500 meters by 1,350 meters and eight meters high. The site was discovered in 1966. It has since been extensively excavated and the remains studied by Thai and international researchers. The artifacts discovered there date from around 5000 years BCE up to the 1st millennium BCE for the more recent ones.
