Bruce Lee Personally Owned Weight Bench

Bruce Lee's original weight bench, constructed of a black-painted metal frame with an elongated red cushion pad and two upright barbell supports. Overall measures approximately 48" long x 18" wide x 37" high. The bench has a narrow padded surface, braced metal understructure, and curved metal rests at the tops of the supports. Shows age and use, including wear to the upholstery and oxidation and surface wear to the metal frame. An accompanying document dated May 25, 2018, identifies the bench as an original piece of Bruce Lee's exercise equipment and describes its use in Lee's strength training, particularly leg lifts and abdominal conditioning. The document includes a signed statement from Mark Ashton-Jackson identifying the bench as a gift from Bruce Lee to Herb Jackson in or around 1968. Jackson was a close friend, student, and confidant of Lee during the mid-to-late 1960s. Also includes a separate signed certificate of authenticity (COA) from Ashton-Jackson, Herb Jackson's son, who received the bench by descent. Bruce Lee's approach to physical conditioning combined strength training, isometric exercises, flexibility, and martial arts practice.
