A compulsive and spontaneous creator, Bruno Cantais lives in Lyon; he explores several techniques, ranging from abstract expressionism to Rauschenberg or De Kooning, to matter projections à la Georges Mathieu, to Pop Art collage or to the expressionism of Karel Appel, which traverses the borders between abstract gesture and figurative representation. But his hallmark remains this physical painting, this material worked by the body, testimony to the artist's intimate monologue.
