Central Asia, Tibet, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A ritual bhumpa (bumpa) water vessel crafted of copper with a brass spout and lid. Rising from a flared pedestal foot, the rounded body supports a tall neck capped by a broad brass brim, with a central opening. To the side is an arched brass spout, designed for dispensing consecrated water or other sacred liquids during Buddhist ceremonies. Such vessels were integral in purification rites, offerings, and blessings, symbolizing the cleansing of negative energies and the flow of wisdom. This example retains a subtle musky, sandalwood-like aroma from ritual use, adding a sensory link to its long devotional history. Size: 4" W x 5.75" H (10.2 cm x 14.6 cm) Item # 203540
