Bulova Day-Date Automatic – Blue Dial – Stainless Steel – Swiss Automatic Movement – Original Bracelet A distinctive vintage Bulova automatic wristwatch from the 1970s, featuring a striking blue dial, day-date complication and the bold integrated-bracelet aesthetic that defined an important era of watch design. The watch features a cushion-shaped stainless steel case with a brushed finish and an attractive two-tone dial construction. The deep blue centre is framed by a contrasting silver chapter ring with applied baton hour markers, creating a strong architectural look. At 3 o’clock, the day and date are displayed together in a framed aperture. Inside is a Swiss Bulova automatic movement, calibre 11 AOACB, signed Bulova Watch Co., offering mechanical self-winding operation and day-date functionality. The blue dial remains attractive and retains its strong colour contrast, with some minor age-related marks visible under close inspection. The applied indexes and hands show signs of ageing consistent with the period. The acrylic crystal shows signs of normal use. The watch has not been tested for water resistance; therefore, despite the “Water Resistant” inscription on the case back, water resistance is not guaranteed. Story & Heritage Bulova occupies an important place in 20th-century watchmaking history, combining American identity with significant Swiss manufacturing expertise. During the 1960s and 1970s, the company produced an extensive range of mechanical watches that reflected the rapidly changing design language of the period. This Day-Date Automatic is an excellent expression of the 1970s integrated-bracelet aesthetic. The broad cushion-shaped case, brushed steel surfaces, geometric dial and integrated bracelet create the strong, architectural appearance that became one of the decade’s defining watch styles. Its blue-and-silver dial gives the watch additional visual character, while the automatic Swiss movement and practical day-date display make it more than simply a period design piece. Today, vintage Bulova watches from this era are increasingly appreciated for their combination of distinctive styling, Swiss mechanical construction and accessible horological heritage. A charismatic 1970s Bulova with an unmistakable period design, attractive blue dial and classic Swiss automatic mechanics. Internal Reference Number - FLO-172
