What does a skeleton dial mean? Skeletonized means the dial has been opened — partly or almost entirely — to show the movement underneath. It is not a graphic effect printed: what moves beneath the hands is the watch’s regulating organ, the balance wheel, which oscillates back and forth until the power reserve runs out.
