Beautiful and authentic antique coffee bean roaster made of heavy cast iron, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century (c. 1890-1920). This type of roaster was at the time placed directly in the ring opening of a wood- or coal-fired stove. The roaster is fitted with the cast size number 22 on the side, which at the time corresponded to the standard size of the stove rings. The lid is nicely decorated with concentric circles and features a well-working hinged flap to add the beans. The graceful, S-shaped wrought iron crank with a wooden knob drives the internal mechanism, which kept the beans in constant motion during roasting to prevent scorching. • Material: Cast iron, wrought iron and wood • Period: ca. 1890-1920 Weight: 4.5 Kg For a better impression, see photos
