BWC – Vintage Swiss Mechanical Watch – 17 Jewels – Gold Plated – Black Dial – 1960-1969 A refined vintage BWC Swiss wristwatch from the 1960s, featuring a classic gold plated case, an attractive black dial and a traditional hand-wound Swiss mechanical movement. The black dial gives the watch a distinctive and elegant appearance, complemented by gold-tone Arabic numerals and matching hands. The warm contrast between the gold plated case and the dark dial creates a strong vintage character typical of mid-century Swiss watchmaking. Inside is a Swiss mechanical manual-winding movement with 17 jewels, visible in the photographs. The movement is marked “SWISS – SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS.” Technical Details Brand: BWC Origin: Switzerland Type: Vintage wristwatch Case material: Gold plated Case back: Stainless steel Case diameter: Approx. 33 mm, excluding crown Glass: Acrylic Dial: Black Indexes: Gold-tone Arabic numerals Hands: Gold-tone Movement: Swiss mechanical, manual winding Jewels: 17 jewels Functions: Hours, minutes, central seconds Shock protection: Incabloc Case back markings: Swiss Made, Stainless Steel Back, Antimagnetic, Incabloc, Waterproof Water resistance: Not tested for water Strap: Black leather, approx. 21 cm Box: Generic box included Condition: Grade B Condition Report This BWC vintage wristwatch is in Grade B condition, showing signs of age and use consistent with a watch from the 1960s. The gold plated case shows scratches, marks and areas of wear to the plating. The stainless steel case back presents scratches and surface marks from normal use and previous opening. The black dial displays noticeable age-related patina and surface ageing, giving the watch an authentic vintage appearance. The Arabic numerals and hands remain clearly visible, while the acrylic crystal shows signs of use and age. Please note that although the case back is marked “Waterproof,” the watch has not been tested for water resistance, therefore water resistance is not guaranteed. Please study all photos carefully, as they are part of the description and show the actual condition of the item. Story & Heritage BWC – Buttes Watch Company – belongs to the tradition of Swiss watchmaking associated with the village of Buttes in the Val-de-Travers, an area with a long history of mechanical watch production. This piece captures the understated elegance of Swiss watches produced during the post-war decades. Its compact 33 mm case, gold-tone Arabic numerals, black dial and hand-wound mechanical movement reflect the proportions and aesthetics characteristic of the period. Particularly attractive is the contrast between the dark dial and the warm gold plated case, while the visible 17-jewel Swiss movement reinforces its traditional mechanical character. A charming vintage Swiss watch for collectors who appreciate original patina, classic proportions and manually wound mechanical timepieces. Internal Reference Number - SOA-31
