Byzantine Bronze Bronze Cross with Globular Terminals – 7th to 10th Century AD

Byzantine Early Medieval Bronze Cross with Globular Terminals – 7th to 10th Century AD A Byzantine bronze cross with an elongated vertical arm and shorter transverse arms, each widening towards paired globular terminals. Raised borders enclose recessed panels decorated with repeated diagonal incisions, forming a feather-like pattern along the arms. At the intersection is a circular feature with a central perforation, while a transverse tubular attachment survives at the top. The combination of rounded terminals, geometric ornament and a strong cruciform outline gives the object a distinctive devotional character. Its surface has a dark brown patina with lighter deposits and wear on the projecting details. Material: Bronze Dimensions: 12.5 cm height. Weight: 120.86 Provenance: Acquired in Germany from an auction house in 2026. We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email.
