Ca. AD 600 . A gold ring with a slender rounded hoop and a circular bezel nielloed with three standing figures on a groundline. Christ stands at the centre with a cruciform halo, flanked by a male figure and a female figure. The inscription "OMON" below abbreviates the Greek "OMONOIA", meaning harmony, concord or unity. Size: D:18.14mm / US: 8 / UK: P 1/2; Weight: 6g Provenance: Private London collection; formerly in a UK ancient art collection (early 2000s); previously in the G.M. collection before 1996.
