c.1929-30 "Piggly Wiggly" jersey and 1928 baseball team panoramic photograph

c.1929-30 "Piggly Wiggly" jersey and 1928 baseball team panoramic photograph. Cream colored cadet collar jersey with maroon accent pipping has "Piggly Wiggly" lettered on the front above "Mac Marr." The former is a well known grocery store chain which continues to operate today, the later was a chain that was later acquired by Safeway around 1931. Goldsmith tag in the collar with faded size tag below. Included pair of pair of pants appears to be constructed of the same material (and they have aged similarly) but there is no makers' mark. Use and age related wear including scattered small holes and other flaws; framed (10.25"x28") photograph showing uniformed members of a Piggly Wiggly baseball team. Caption printed within notes that is was taken "Post Tournament August 1-13, 1928." Among the players is Urban Shocker (as shown in his Yankee hat in the team picture) who had recently retired from Major League play due to the heart condition which would soon take his life. The team was based in Denver, and the previous owner has relayed that the jersey and photo originated from a family estate of team member Elmer Geick. Touch of light visible wear and toning: GD-VG
