Charles Templeton began his career as a sports cartoonist with the Toronto Globe in 1932 at age 17, creating daily sports drawings that included prominent Canadian athletes. His work was syndicated to newspapers across Canada, and he became known for his ability to capture the likenesses of sports figures; he remained with the Globe for about four years before leaving cartooning in 1936. Offered here are over 250 cut outs across multiple sports and including some of sporting's most notable names. The group includes mostly hockey and baseball with most cutouts in the size range of 4" x 6". The group includes stunning artworks of Babe Ruth, Walter Johnson, Hap Day, King Clancy, Eddie Shore and so many more. The breadth of this collection should not be understated, it spans across hockey, football, baseball, golf, boxing, horse racing and more and is a true portfoli0 of one of Sports greatest early artists.
