All auctions / Music & Musical Instruments / Cambridge - ATAC 3 Solid state integrated amplifier
The Cambridge Audio ATAC 3 is an audiophile integrated amplifier that epitomizes British no-frills high-fidelity, where all the quality is focused on the signal path and the sonic performance. This model is particularly famous and sought after by audiophiles for its prestigious design signature: it bears the signature of the legendary engineer Mike Creek (founder of Creek Audio). Its minimalist and purist philosophy is evident in every detail of the circuitry (see the interior photo), conceived to offer an incredibly transparent, dynamic sound that faithfully reproduces the original source. The ATAC 3 impresses with its sonic qualities. Although the rated power is modest, the amplifier displays a surprising driving capability, with a dynamic reserve that makes its watts seem much more energetic than expected. The timbre is warm and typically “British,” with a fluid, detailed midrange, a perfect reconstruction of the virtual stage, and precise, unobtrusive bass control. It is the ideal amplifier for those seeking the authentic analog sound of the 1990s. The amplifier for sale is in excellent condition. The front panel and chassis are very well preserved, with minimal signs of wear that do not compromise its beauty at all (please view the detailed photos carefully, which are an integral part of the description). The unit has been tested extensively: the controls are smooth and do not crackle, the inputs work perfectly, and the power delivery is symmetrical and clean on both channels. The amplifier for sale is not equipped with the phono card, which at the time of its release was optional. Technical Specifications: Output power: 40 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo) Frequency response: 10 Hz to 50 kHz Total harmonic distortion (THD): 0.01% Audio inputs: CD, Tuner, Aux, AV Input sensitivity: 2.5 mV (Phono MM), 150 mV (line) Signal-to-noise ratio: 75 dB (Phono MM), 92 dB (line) Dimensions: 430 x 85 x 300 mm Weight: ~5 kg The amplifier will be packed with the utmost protective care, using materials specifically chosen to ensure a safe journey.
