Candelabrum (2) - Bronze - Louis XVI couple

Elegant pair of 19th-century French gilt-bronze candlesticks, inspired by refined Louis XVI-style models. Their design is characterized by a sober, balanced composition, where the purity of lines and the harmony of proportions evoke the neoclassical taste that defined French decoration of the late 18th century and which experienced a significant revitalization during the 19th century. Each candlestick rises on a quadrilobed base with cut profiles, resting on a truncated-conical body with a gentle transition that leads to a slender, turned shaft. The stem features a succession of annular moldings and delicate constrictions that provide visual rhythm to the whole, culminating in a flat-profile catch plate and a cylindrical, simply styled candleholder. The absence of exuberant ornamentation enhances the quality of the casting and the architectural elegance of its volumes, a characteristic feature of the Louis XVI decorative language. The warm patina developed by the bronze over time gives depth and authenticity to the piece, highlighting the slight signs of use typical of its age. Thanks to its clean, timeless design, this pair of candlesticks is especially suitable for integrating into both classical interiors and contemporary eclectic décors, adding a note of distinction and historical refinement. It is a decorative ensemble of great aesthetic balance, representative of the persistence of French neoclassical taste in the decorative arts of the 19th century. Insured shipping and careful packaging.
