A Barley Twist set of antique candlesticks and a Barley Twist tall sideboard lamp with a silk shade. Made of darkly stained or weathered solid oak with a characteristic grain. The so-called Barley Twist, a spirally turned stem resting on a round, saucer-shaped foot, is a classic late Victorian model (1890–1905 Victorian/Edwardian era). The tall sideboard lamp is probably a bit younger (1960); the silk-twisted shade has been renewed. The condition of the set is excellent. Minor signs of use are consistent with age and use. For lovers of a classic interior in which details speak most clearly.
